Drilling side panels and chassis (gulp)

Alright so well into drilling the interior panels. Dan kinda threw down the challenge of an eye brow raise when I mentioned my target timeline. 2 panels drilled and de-burred. Now onto the chassis.

For the side panels I drew all the centre lines on and tried to find the ‘natural’ places to start each of the 40mm spacings. The trickiest part was lining up the rivet holes around the arches/sills. For this I ended up putting the centre lines about 10mm back from the edge. Not ideal as the arches didn’t 100% follow the curvature of the chassis rails, at the tops the rivets will be bang on the centre, 2/3rd way round offset by a few mm. However it’s all going to be covered in goop and upholstery so no-one will notice 🙂

Probably 10-11hrs in to get here : 2xpanels drilled and de-burred, some of the LH panel holes put in the chassis. A good 2hrs of that was working up the nerve to drill stuff !

Also got some no-name shelves of trademe. 2m x 2m x 0.5m $170. Done the trick for putting all the parts in. Now need an engine stand. Wide angle shot for Gaz’s benefit…
